How does Disodium Octaborate Tetrahydrate differ from borax and boric acid?

It is a concentrated water-soluble borate that generally supplies more elemental B than borax and is well suited to rapidly dissolving foliar and liquid formulations. Boric acid also supplies B, but assay, dissolution behavior and formulation pH differ. Do not substitute equal weights; convert by elemental B and verify compatibility.
